Who we are

We have been beef performance recording our stud since 1960 in the steep hills of the Matahuru Valley, in the North Waikato.

We are third generation farmers with the second still actively involved.

We run 280 Angus cows alongside 80 Herefords as well as running Romney sheep.

As you may know ANGUS cows do a fantastic job of cleaning the roughage, or tag from the steep faces that sheep or young stock will not eat.

Our cows work hard, often rearing their calf on rough feed until the autumn rains come – some years not til May!   Of the 670ha we run, less than 10% is easy or flat, so our cattle work hard from the day they are born.
